about

”Rest in confusion” (or Lalalaralala)
B-side: "The rest" (or Efterfesten)
This was going to be part of an Ep but illness has changed my plans and now I just take one bad day and one sad song at a time. No, just kidding, I mean one precious day and one single song at a time!
The rest of my half-finished projects will be released half naked and just like this one, in the name of Wabi Sabi.
The song is partially made of confusion, improvisation and playful experimentation. Without knowing what to sing or a vocal arrangement in mind I decided to only hear the guitar track while recording all the different parts of the vocal choir. Such an exiting moment in the end when pressing play to hear all the vocal parts together. And what a secret joy I've had all those years doing this kind of music without recording it. To have fun is truly a serious matter. As a guiding star and playmate I had an older acoustic guitar song. My new electric guitar and I had a lot of fun transforming it with the drums and the vocals, summer 2020.

”Now that is a virulent chord if ever I heard one, the kind you'd expect of Led Zep or those other hirsute acts from yesteryear. So imagine our surprise when a chorus of sirens is what we were really going to be treated to. There is no denying though that the spirit of rock and roll has washed up on the shores of Black Pudding Poetry and a healthy dose of mysticism with it. This is psychedelic stuff and a bit too freeform for me despite all its dreamy and escapist possibilities.”
Kevin Hugger

So for some people this could be a bit too freeform, but for me it’s freedom from boredom. Thanks Mp3Hugger for your thoughts!

Hope you will enjoy this song as much as I enjoyed recording it!
Lots of love, laughter and lo-fi to you.
